Student Activities

A wide range of events and activities designed to engage students in Health Innovation.  The HIP Student Advisory Group (SAG) provides strategic ad tactical advice on student programs and includes student representatives from major health-related student groups at Emory and Georgia Tech.

  "New Funding Opportunities: How PCORI addresses challenges in bringing the patient's voice to comparative efectiveness research". Featureing a question and answer session with Edmund R. Beker, PhD, Professor of Health Policy and Management, PCORI Grantee. This meeting is presented by the AcademyHealth Emory Student Chapter and the Healthcare Innovation Program Student Advisory Group.

• Build Your Own ACO: An Interactive Learning Experience (February 28, 2013)
  Build Your Own ACO: An Interactive Learning Experience (February 28, 2013) Join the IHI Open School, Emory Health Innovation Lab, and Emory Healthcare for a night of interactive learning and discussion as we ‘build an ACO.’ With the help of senior healthcare leaders from Emory Healthcare and the Atlanta community, students will take on the role of payer, provider and health system as we negotiate with one another to create a functioning Accountable Care Organization (ACO) that improves quality, reduces costs, and still allows us to meet our bottom line.
• Student Interest Group Meeting w/Robert Dittus MD, MPH (February 19, 2013)
• Opportunity for students to meet with Robert Dittus, MD, MPH, Assistant Vice-Chancellor for Public Health and Health Care, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, to discuss topics of student interest.  This meeting is being sponsored by AcademyHealth Emory Sudent Chapter and will serve as their kick-off meeting.  
• Health Innovation Lab Meeting and Demo w/Robert Dittus, MD, MMPH (February 19, 2013)
  The lab is a virtual collaboration driven by students, aimed at developing healthcare innovation, leveraging their interdisciplinary strengths. It serves as a creative space for students from across Emory, Atlanta and the State to build the Healthcare landscape. The website will serve as a collective voice, journal of publication, and idea lab.

  Opportunity for students to meet with Michael Klag MD, PhD, Dean, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, to discuss topics of student interest. 
• Academy Health Student Chapter  
  Academy Health  supports the formation of  student chapters to enhance the learning and professional development experience for students in health servces research and health policy. A student chapter is being formed for all interested students.
