Facilitating Innovation
Multi-Institutional Collaborative Research Projects
In conjunction with the HIP symposium featuring Glenn Steele, MD, PhD, CEO, Geisinger Health Systems, an Emory - Geisinger project is being developed on new healthcare delivery/payment models. Geisinger has a significant health services research presence with outstanding infrastructure and resources to support these types of collaborative studies. The researchers will study the impact of incentive payment models on outcomes (eg, performance, behavior), extending the CMMI-funded, regional intensive care model developed by Tim Buchman's team.

Collaborative research projects are also being planned with Johns Hopkins University in conjunction with the symposium featuring Michael Klag, MD, PhD. Health Services researchers from Emory and Hopkins will collaborate on a project focused on Individualized Health, which is a major initiative of Johns Hopkins University.
