From 2009 to 2011, Dr. Virgo was a Research Health Scientist in the Health Services Research & Development at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. In 2008 she was awarded the Department of Veterans Affairs Director’s Commendation, Since 2002 Dr. Virgo has been a member of the Contributed Abstract Review Committee, Medical Care Section, for of the American Public Health Association Annual Meeting. She as served as Chair-Elect, Medical Care Section, American Public Health Association since 2009. In 2008 Dr. Virgo began chairing the Health Services Research Committee, Medical Care Section of the American Public Health Association. She has been a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology Cancer Foundation since 2008. She also is a member of the Komen Grant Review Subcommittee.
